Justin Tuck shows off the Super Bowl XLVI championship ring of your New York Football Giants, which were designed by Tiffany & Co. A feature of the ring that hadn’t been revealed until today is the engraving of “Finish” and “All In” on the inside of the ring. Those were key phrases the team repeatedly uttered last season. “We wanted to get a few things that were significant to this season – (including) ‘Finish’ on the inside,” Eli Manning said. “Things like that make the ring special.” “We definitely wanted ‘Finish,’ we definitely wanted ‘All In,’” Justin Tuck said. “Those were two things we prided ourselves on, not only during the season, but especially through the playoff run. And we won games that way. So we definitely wanted those in there.” The rings will be presented to the players this evening during a private ceremony at Tiffany & Co.’s flagship store on Fifth Ave. in Manhattan.

Tiaina Baul ”Junior“ Seau, Jr.  January 19, 1969 – May 2, 2012. It would be a ridiculous overstatement to say I knew Junior Seau. He and I both attended USC, and we attended a couple benefit dinners over the years, and I briefly met him and his wife at the time. His untimely death has hit me as if there was a death in my family, because in a way it is. I’ll leave it to others to eulogize the man’s life and accomplishments, I’ve been sort of numb and melancholy ever since the news came. I’ve seen more than my share of death, both in my former career and with friends. You never get used to it. I grieve his loss to us for his three children, for the friends and family left with questions that will never be answered, for his Trojan family, and football fans everywhere.  I suspect I’ll have more to say regarding the football-related questions at hand, but not today. Not today. God bless the memory and life of Junior Seau. RIP.
